Artist Note: Water is my refuge. When the world is still I can hear it, when I close my eyes I can feel it. I return to water again and again and always emerge renewed.

“Emerging” is one of the paintings that I have been working on a series of paintings under the umbrella title of ‘I’ve got Something to Say’.
I have dedicated to painting three years ago when a massive stroke nearly ended my life. My art whose scenes often include the ocean and seashore are powerful and emotional acrylic paintings that touch on the feelings that I experienced while struggling to survive my near fatal condition. My stroke severely affected many of my language skills and in my recovery my art has become my voice.
My paintings are the storytelling so I don’t hide my emotions or justify them. It is a deeply personal exploration of yourself and the most amazing thing about my experience as an artist is that so many other people understand my work and feel like I do. When we touch others we connect with them and I want to create art that touches.
Art has saved me. In my darkest moments, it gives me a reason to get up in the morning.
