    Description

In creating art I am always looking for unique ways to increase variety in paint application. Sometimes though, my brain feels overwhelmed with thoughts of edges, thick and thin paint, and interaction of values. In this particular painting I had become disenchanted and was actually wiping some of the offensive paint off. Funny how at that moment my inhibitions fell away. What did I have to lose. It couldn't get any worse. Before I knew it I was laying down strokes with brush, palette knife, and even a paper towel. I found I was playing with paint and loving it. And the end result was that the painting no longer lacked the vitality I had envisioned for it.

I think removing paint is just as important as applying it as demonstrated in this piece.
