    Description

I used to paint watercolor all the time, but had lost interest in it when I started doing acrylic. Then I read of a technique where you pour watercolor pigment onto wet paper and let it dry and then try to figure out what it should be or could be. So I did that with this. The problem was that it was so very pretty I didn't want to ruin it. So I stared at it for a full year before I touched it again. Yes - a year. These colors were so pretty that I had dripped down the paper and I knew I could never repeat this. There were blues, greens, purples, yellows all blending seamlessly. What could it be...it had to be some type of water.

Eventually I decided to try to make it waterlilies but very loose, kind of impressionistic. And so I put my favorite Christmas movie on the tv, White Christmas, and while singing, "Sisters, sisters" with Bing Crosby I finished this painting and did not ruin it. I was going to give it to my sister, but my Mom saw it and wanted it. She's 90 now and so she has it, which is why it is not for sale.
