    Description

Each spring in the Cumberland Gap, where KY, TN, and VA all come together there is a celebration of the history of pioneers who crossed the mountains to make a life in the west.  Living historians travel to a spot known as Martin's Station to recreate life of the late 18th century. These two brothers came to the hills with their father to be part of the Native American contingent.  Their heritage speaks to a long history of survival with the nature of the area as well as the disruption brought on by the arrival of white settlers.

    Spring Bloom

This painting reminds me of the years I lived in Tucson, AZ. The colors are spot-on for the way the desert looks after some rain. Lovely!
